This article is for admins. View as member is included in all plans.
View as member shows you the community exactly as one selected member sees it, so you can check what a given audience actually sees before a campaign goes out. This is useful in communities with heavy segmentation or with several countries in one license, where it is hard to verify what each group gets.
Start viewing as a member
Open the community (the member side, not Manage) and look at the bottom of the left menu.
Click View as member.
Type the name of the member in the search field and select the member in the list.
Navigate through the community as you normally would. A banner at the top of the page shows which member you are viewing as.
Click Stop in the banner to return to your own view.
What the banner means
The banner stays visible while you are viewing as a member and tells you per page whether the view-as applies:
Active: the page shows what the selected member sees. The banner names the page, for example Viewing the feed as, Viewing leaderboards as or Viewing rewards as.
Inactive on this page: the page still shows your own data, not the member's.
What is and is not covered
The community feed shows the campaigns the selected member is targeted with. The feed tabs are not affected: the banner says Tabs are not affected.
Leaderboards and rewards show the member's leaderboard positions and rewards.
The home page is not covered and keeps showing your own activity.
View as member only changes what you see; it does not act on behalf of the member.
