When setting up a share campaign, you might wonder which image size you should foresee. In this article, we'll have a closer look and help you out.
When building one of the following share campaigns, you'll be asked to provide one or more previews. A preview contains the information that will be shared by your advocates and contains an image, a title, and/or a description.
When the objective is to share an image (e.g., a campaign visual or team picture), the uploaded image is also injected automatically in the preview.
Now, important to note is that whenever you upload an image in the preview, the original size and dimensions are maintained. Ambassify does not change or adapt the image you upload. This means that if you want to optimize your campaign specifically for a particular social media channel like LinkedIn or Instagram, we recommend you consider the sizes listed below. If your campaign is created for multiple social channels, it will be a matter of finding a good compromise with regards to its size.
Instagram feed landscape: 1080 x 566 pixels (feed images)
Instagram feed portrait: 1080 x 1350 pixels (feed images)
Instagram feed square: 1080 x 1080 pixels (feed images)
Supported aspect ratios: Anywhere between 1.91:1 and 4:5
Supported formats: GIF, JPG, and PNG
Recommended size: 1200 x 627 pixels
The image should use a 1.91:1 ratio.
The minimum width is 200 pixels
Facebook
Facebook automatically resizes and formats your photos when they are uploaded for the timeline to be 500 pixels wide and to fit the 1.91:1 aspect ratio. However, for the best results, follow these recommendations for Facebook timeline posts:
Recommended size: 1200 x 630 pixels
Minimum size: 600 x 315 pixels
And for Facebook Stories:
Recommended size: 1080 x 1920 pixels
The width should not be smaller than 500 pixels.
If you want to let your advocates add text to their Stories, you can leave some space at the top and bottom of your image. For example, both are 250 pixels.
For in-stream photos:
Recommended size: 1600 x 900 pixels
Minimum size: 600 by 335 pixels
Recommended aspect ratio: any aspect between 2:1 and 1:1 on desktop; 2:1, 3:4, and 16:9 on mobile
Supported formats: GIF, JPG, and PNG
Maximum file size: Up to 5MB for photos and GIFs on mobile and up to 15MB on web
