Requesting dedicated e-mail IP for security or reputation

By default Ambassify customers share the sending mail server and the dynamic set of IP addresses associated with that server. This means that the sending spam reputation of your messages are also shared with other customers.

You might want to request dedicated IP addresses for any of the reasons below:

  • Security: Whitelist a limited set of sending IP addresses for a domain.

  • Reputation: Exert more control over delivery and the spam reputation for you domain.


Using dedicated sending IP addresses you'll be able to whitelist Ambassify in your receiving mail server, firewall, SPF policies or any other security appliance that allows filtering based on the IP address of the sending server.

After requesting dedicated IP addresses from us we'll provide you with a set of at least 2 IP addresses that will be used for you account and only your account. This ensures that you can verify that e-mails sent from Ambassify are allowed to use your domain.

Note: Regardless of whether you are using dedicated IPs or not, Ambassify will publish SPF records and use DKIM to secure the e-mail sent.


Many e-mail providers use the concept of sender reputation to determine whether and e-amil is spam or not. Sender reputation is based both on the domain name used by the sender and the IP address of the sending mail server.

When sharing an IP address with others (as is the case by default on Ambassify) the reputation of you e-mails is not only dependent on the e-mails sent by you but also by other customers. To work around this issue you can request Ambassify to use a set of IPs that will only be used by your account.

Using dedicated IPs you will be responsible for the reputation associated with these IPs, do note however that in order to build up your reputation that a large enough amount of e-mails need to be sent.
