Goal

The custom digest message template lets you send an overview of selected campaigns that you have handpicked. You can compare it to a custom newsletter.

Creating custom digest

When you go to Messages, you click Create Message and click Create next to the Custom Digest preset.

This will take you to the message wizard:

  • The first step is to give the digest message a name

  • In the next step, you can select the language for your digest. Note that you have to create a separate message for each language

  • At Channel, you can select if you want to send an email or text message

  • Next, you can select the audience and filter who should receive your message

  • Once you select the audience, you can choose the content of your digest

Add an article

By clicking the purple Add article button, you will get a pop-up that asks for a URL of an article. When inserting an article URL and clicking Add, the Ambassify platform will automatically try to fetch the article's title, short description, and image. Based on this data, it will automatically create a social share campaign on a landing page for that article.

When you add more than one item, you can reorder the items by drag and drop.

In some cases, it’s possible that our platform isn’t able to auto-detect all content or that you are not happy with the description or image. In this case, changing the default copy and image is possible by clicking on the article panel and editing the content.

Choose an existing campaign

Besides the option to add an article, you can also add an existing campaign.

To do this, click Choose Existing Campaign.

A list of all your campaigns will appear in a pop-up. You see in the status of the campaign (published/draft) and the channel (landing page/community). You can also use the search function to find the campaign you are looking for.

In case you select a campaign that is both published on a landing page and in your community, a pop-up will ask you which version you want to include in the digest.

When you have selected a campaign, data is being retrieved from this campaign: title, image and description. This is what will show in the digest email. You can still edit this information if you like.

When you have added the different articles or campaigns to your digest, the next step is to add some introductory text to your email. You can do this in the step called "content". It’s also possible to change the email's subject in this step.

You can open the Preview to get a visual preview of what the actual email will look like. Remember that the mail template in the screenshot below is our default one. It’s possible to customize the look & feel in your account settings.

The last step is to send out the actual email. It’s possible to send it right away, schedule it on a specific date and time or save it as a draft for later.

The articles that you add in your custom digests, will also appear in your Ambassify campaign list overview as social share campaigns published on a landing page.
